The RBI Young Scholars Award Scheme has been started by the Reserve Bank of India to make interest and bring awareness to the people about the Indian banking sector and RBI under the Scheme and RBI will choose almost 150 young scholars throughout the country through the competitive examination. Selection test will be hekd in English as well as in all major regional languages and test will focus on the role and functions of RBI and banks in India. It is necessary for the chosen candidates to work on projects in select offices of RBI for 2 to 3 months and also get stipend of Rs. 7,500/- per month during working on projects. RBI will also provide boarding and lodging for outstation candidates. Those are not eligible to apply again who had qualified and worked at RBI under the RBI Young Scholar Award Scheme before.
Those students who are between 18 and 23 years of age and presently pursuing their undergraduate studies in any subject under any recognized university in India can take part in the competitive examination. You have to pay no fee for application form. On January 9, 2011 the selection test will be held throughout the India at different centers. In the middle of march 2011 the results will be announced.
